Clayton Homes, part of the Berkshire Hathaway multinational conglomerate, has built more than 1.5 million homes since 1934 and is one of the country’s largest home builders. The InSite Group has managed all phases of their signage program, lighting upgrades and maintenance from procurement to installation and on-call maintenance for over for over 7 years and 400 locations.


• The InSite Group performed asset surveys for each sign prior to providing a maintenance contract enabling us to perform break/fix and routine maintenance with very little turn around time. Using this historical data we had very useful information going into the lighting upgrade project.
• We assumed the responsibility of managing the project from procurement of the upgraded lamps and ballasts and the distribution of all replacement parts to the appropriate vendors in their designated territories. We utilized our nationwide installation network to complete the scope of work with local skilled technicians.
• Upon completion of the project 4,148 lamps and 646 ballasts were installed at 351 sites over a four month period.



• The upgrade achieved and increased life cycle from 12k to 60k hours. The new bulbs will perform at a 40% higher efficiency rate than previous bulbs and the new electronic ballasts include a 5 year warranty.
• Because there are fewer outages there is significant reduction to break/fix and maintenance costs, allowing for a quicker ROI.
• All signs were cleaned thoroughly inside and out to give the brand a fresh clean look during day and night hours.
